The Victorian Roses Ladies Riding Society is a 501c3 educational history organization founded in 2008 in San Diego, CA. Created by three original members who were looking for a period-accurate, upscale, equine re-enactment group, there are now over two dozen members who appear in several Southern California parades including the internationally televised Tournament of Roses Parade.  The group also performs in exhibits such as Night of the Horse and Equestfest and can be seen at many local events throughout the year.

Members are well versed in historical costuming as well as being avid equestrians in both riding and driving. All the “costumes” are custom made, one-of-a-kind originals and are designed and sewn by the members. The mission of the Victorian Roses is to present living history and to educate the public on aspects of the Victorian Era,
specifically the 1880’s.

A true philanthropy, the Victorian Roses raises money to support horse rescue in San Diego. Their annual fundraiser, the Wild West Casino Night, has raised thousands of dollars for this important cause. Numerous non-profit organizations have benefited from this one-of-a-kind event, which has grown to be the largest horse rescue fundraiser in the county.

Truly a sisterhood of dedicated women, each member has chosen a Rose name which has personal meaning to herself and to the group.
